This is my Piano Studio home page. Below I will tell you of the method I will be using and you can also download a
copy of my lessons policy. At the bottom there is an interactive map showing you how to get to my house from anywhere!

I am currently taking lessons from a collegiate level piano teacher, Rob Hutchinson. He and two other teachers
have been helping me to get started teaching on my own. They will all be advising me on technique and style while
I begin teaching so you can be assured that what I teach your child won't be way off base!

The Method I will be using for lessons is Alfred's Piano Prep Course. The course is specifically designed to meet the
demands of each individual child. Essentially, I think three books form the core of the method: Lesson Book, Theory Book,
and Ear Training. I would ask that you purchase the Lesson Book and Theory Book to begin; however, depending
on the needs of the child we may look into additional books. For children between ages 5 and 8 I will be using the
"Young Beginner" course and for students ages 9 to 12 I will use the "Late Beginner" course. Both courses teach the
same fundamental principles, just at different paces. For example, a 6-year-old would not learn about the "staff" until
halfway through the book where an 11-year-old would learn about it just after the first few pages. I've provided a link to the
Alfred's website where you can buy and preview the material online, or you could just go to a local music store.
